Basics of Landscaping: Groundcovers for Rainbow Gardens

Ground covers can be an important element in your home landscape. They can serve as a “living mulch”, retaining moisture, suppressing weeds, and moderating soil temperatures. They provide an alternative to turfgrass, particularly when it is in shade. And they can provide habitat for your butterflies, bees, and other pollinators! Join Candy Roach, Bexar County Master Gardener, as she discussed plant selection, bed preparation, installation, and maintenance of ground covers. She will also share recommendations for excellent ground cover plants for our area.
